Now that the quilt top is finished, it is time to make a quilt sandwich! A little trick I will share: Try using a sheet that is up one size from the quilt as a backing. It is MUCH cheaper than yardage and there is no piecing together!! you're welcome ;-)  

Then you baste the entire quilt

The you get to quiltin' that thing

trim it all nice and straight

add binding

and finish with your brag tag!

and you get this!!!

What a beautiful gift of labor!!

Birth of a Quilt {part 1}

They say that quilts are a labor of love.

 {GRIN}

Here is the birthing process!

Starts with this {yummy prepped fabric}...

gets cut up-the most tedious part- and laid out like this

and then fast forward hours later and you have this
